Building a new home while living in another state can be a daunting challenge. However, Dustin and Drew Dewald made it a flawless experience. Their professionalism and communication skills were excellent. They maintain a high bar for construction excellence and their subcontractors certainly meet it. They attend to every detail. I could not be more pleased with both my experience and my new home. I cannot close without mentioning both my wife and I consider both of these men part of our family. I truly believe that, for father and son, homebuilding is not only a profession, it is a vocation. Honest, hard-working, and dependable you could not make a better choice to build your home.

When choosing a custom home builder to build the dream home that you have dreamed about and planned over several decades for, you certainly want to choose a builder that understands that this is not like just any other home that you are seeking to have built, but this is a home that you not only plan to live in for the remainder of your life but has generational implications. So, as we began the process of looking for a custom home builder, we met with over eight other custom home builders, but my wife and I were never able to make a connection with anyone that we had met with.
Until one night after Bible study, we expressed our exhaustion of looking for a custom home builder to our beloved friend and she said we should meet with Dustin who had built their home. So, our friends arranged a meeting for us to sit down with Dustin and Drew. Dustin had just completed transitioning everything to Drew. The first meeting we had went very well and there was a level of transparency, especially with pricing, and warm welcoming that we had never experienced with the other builders we had met with. We knew then that this was the builder for us!
We really appreciated the level of detail that went into all the design meetings. We also are thankful that Drew and Dustin kept us in line with what made sense from a builder’s perspective so that we would not regret something we thought was a good idea later. Because although we had some ideas, they would explain to us how to make it work from a builder’s perspective or what would work best.
Throughout the actual building process, Drew and I met regularly at the house to go over all the steps that would be taking place, and he did everything he could to answer my questions and help us to feel comfortable throughout the entire process. I must say that Drew and I really grew in our relationship with one another, which is why it is a pleasure for me to write this testimonial. And even when things needed to be made clearer for me, (retired military ) with a humble heart, Drew brought in his dad, Dustin, who has 30 plus years of experience, to bring in that added clarity. And in the few times Dustin came in for clarification that was all that was needed. Please see this as a compliment to Drew because rather than blowing smoke or blowing off my concern, he was humble enough to bring in his dad who is a consultant to Drew and certainly will help resolve any issues that may arise. I am confident now that Drew can probably address most of the outside of the box concerns himself.
After living in our home for over nine months, we can honestly say that we are completely satisfied with our home! We also love the fact that there is service after the sale! Drew is building a home next door to us and reassures me often that we can let him know if we have any issues and he will get them taken care of.
Lastly, after living in your home for a while, it’s good to be able to see your builder and exchange with them an honest, warm greeting or wave as they go by rather than trying to avoid them because the building process was bad for you. The overall experience, although it was a lot, was excellent and we only have one recommendation for anyone who is in the market for a custom home builder and that is none other than Dewald Design Build! When beginning the process of building our home we had many questions. The biggest of them being, who is going to build our home? Drew was at the top of every list we came up with. 

Drew and his father built a few of the homes in our area, so we already had an idea of what to expect from him. We looked at other builders, but the look, quality, and style of Drew’s housesjust blew away the others. In our first meeting Drew started talking to us about what we were looking for and about ourselves to see if he would be the best builder for us.  From that very first meeting I knew that we had chosen the right man for the job.  He laid out the build process and timeline.  By the time we started building I knew when the house was going to be complete and how much it was going to cost.  Drew talked about our options and listed to all of our wants and wishes, giving us his expert opinions with pros and cons to all of our design choices.  His guidance in the design process and the finishing touches made the largest purchase of our life that less stressful.  Anyone wishing to build their forever home, Drew is the builder for you.  My coworkers, friends, and family absolutely love my house, and I proudly show it off whenever I can.  I will and have recommended him to others and have told him he can always use me as a reference.  My finished house is better than the forever home I had floating in my head during that first meeting.  My wife and I thank you for creating our home.

When we started looking for a custom builder for our forever home, it was overwhelming because of the number of custom builders available. Drew communicated with us with each step in the building phase and even after completion. He treated us like we had been friends for many years. His knowledge and wisdom of building custom homes far exceeded our expectations. Having to design every inch of the house can be overwhelming. However, having Drew on our side kept us reassured that everything would turn out and look great. He made suggestions to help make our home flow, when we were kinda getting away from the theme, lol. All of his subcontractors were friendly, trustworthy, paid close attention to detail, and answered all questions we may have had. What made us even more proud of our choice is how our neighbors would marvel at the fact that Drew and his crew were always at our home during the building phase to ensure that everything went as planned. We highly recommend Dewald Design and Build to anyone looking for a reputable builder to bring their custom home design to life.
